Mr. İlhami Sun is one of the founding partners of Sun-Tech Inc. and brings over 30 years of deep operational and entrepreneurial experience to the firm. Based in Toronto, with strong and enduring business ties to Türkiye, Mr. Sun has built a solid reputation across sectors including construction, renewable energy, agriculture, and manufacturing.
Born in 1972 in Denizli, Türkiye, Mr. Sun studied Business Administration before embarking on a professional career that began with management roles in leading Turkish companies. After a decade in corporate management, he transitioned to entrepreneurship, founding and operating his own companies across several industries.
Mr. Sun is especially recognized for his hands-on expertise in renewable energy project development. He is the founder in Karatepe RES, a wind energy project located in Çanakkale, Türkiye, operated through his company, Tepe Energy. With an annual output of approximately 100 million kWh, this operational wind farm stands as a testament to his capability in bringing complex, capital-intensive projects from inception through to production.
His experience spans the full lifecycle of energy development — from project design and feasibility to navigating Türkiye's rigorous permitting, licensing, and regulatory frameworks. This practical exposure has enabled Mr. Sun to build a trusted and resilient professional network within the regional energy and infrastructure ecosystem.
In 2023, he extended his operations to North America, establishing a base in Canada and co-founding Sun-Tech Inc. As part of the Sun-Tech leadership team, Mr. Sun plays a pivotal role in evaluating project feasibility, overseeing on-the-ground execution, and bridging local and international capital with operational opportunities, particularly in energy, infrastructure, and strategic investment.
Mr. Sun splits his time between Canada and Türkiye, maintaining close involvement in both markets and continuously sharing his field-proven knowledge with the broader Sun-Tech partnership.
